frequently asked questions

Can frozen veggie patties be cooked straight from the freezer?
Yes, Angel Bay frozen veggie patties are made to be cooked from frozen. Just remove from the pack, cook using your preferred method, and make sure the centre reaches 75°C (piping hot) before serving.
Are Angel Bay vegetarian patties vegan?
They are. Angel Bay Gourmet Veggie patties are vegan patties, made with plant ingredients and no meat, dairy, or egg, perfect for meat-free or flexitarian meals.
What are Angel Bay veggie patties made from?
These veggie patties are packed with vegetables and plant proteins including edamame soybeans, chickpeas, onions, cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms, pea protein, and quinoa, plus herbs and spices for flavour.
Do the veggie burgers contain common allergens?
Angel Bay vegetarian burgers are egg-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free, but they do contain soy (from edamame soybeans). Always check the pack if you’re cooking for someone with allergies.
Are vegetarian burgers a healthy option?
Vegetarian burgers can be a great healthy choice because they’re made from nutrient-rich vegetables and plant proteins. Pair your veggie burger with fresh salad, wholegrain buns, and lighter sauces to keep the meal balanced and satisfying.
Do the veggie patties have fewer calories than beef burgers?

In general, Angel Bay Gourmet Veggie Burger Patties tend to be lower in calories per 100 g than many beef options, for example, the veggie patties have around 146 calories per 100 g.

By comparison, Angel Bay Gourmet Beef Burger Patties typically have more calories per 100 g because of their higher fat and protein content.

That makes veggie patties a great choice if you’re after a lighter, plant‑based option. But exact numbers vary by product and serving size, so for precise calories and nutrition per patty, always check the nutrition panel on the pack.

How do you cook Angel Bay Gourmet veggie burger patties?
Cook the veggie burger patties from frozen in a pan, oven, BBQ, or air fryer until hot through. Typical times are around 14–16 minutes in a pan or 18–20 minutes in the oven, turning halfway, and always cooking to 75°C in the centre.
What goes well with plant-based burgers?
Plant based burgers are awesome with bold, fresh toppings like avocado, tomato, pickles, red onion, rocket, beetroot relish, hummus, or a dairy-free aioli. They also pair well with sweet potato fries or a crunchy slaw.
How long can you keep frozen veggie burgers in the freezer?
Keep Angel Bay frozen veggie burgers stored at -18°C and use by the best-before date on the pack. Keeping them sealed and fully frozen helps protect flavour and texture.
What meals can you make with vegetarian patties besides burgers?
Angel Bay vegetarian patties are super versatile — try them in wraps, salad bowls, pita pockets, or crumbled into tacos, nachos, or grain bowls for a quick plant-based dinner. For dinner inspo, check out our recipe section.
