INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ciabatta or sourdough burger bun or roll
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp basil pesto
  • 2 Tbsp marinara sauce
  • 40g fresh mozzarella, sliced into 3 rounds
  • 1/2 tomato, sliced
  • 1 large handful rocket

METHOD

  1. Cook beef burger patty according to instructions on packet.
  2. Halve the burger bun and lightly toast or char the inside.
  3. Mix mayonnaise with pesto.
  4. Spread the bottom half of the bun with marinara sauce, then top with burger patty, mozzarella and tomato. Season with salt and pepper, then add rocket. Spread the top half of the bun with pesto mayonnaise and sandwich the burger together.

Chef's Notes: 

  • Choose a good quality thick marinara sauce.
  • Delicious served with salted kettle chips or fries.
